Singapore, March 25, 2008 - LG Electronics, a worldwide technology and designleader in mobile communications, today announced the launch of its award winningLG KF600 in Singapore - a new mobile phone that is as feature-rich and easy touse as it is stylish, thanks to its unique touch screen interface.
The LG KF600, which won the 2008 iF product design award, features an innovativeInteractPad鈩?replacing traditional physical navigation keys withcontext-specific virtual keys that change to fit the task at hand. This newinterface comes in response to the need for a simple way to navigate through thenumerous features found on today鈥檚 mobile phones.
The InteractPad鈩?and its virtual menu keys show the exact keys a user needs tocomplete the task at hand and is far more flexible than standard hardware keysas it eliminates the need to memorize specific functions assigned to particularkeys. These virtual keys are also larger and better spaced than physical keys,improving accuracy.
The InteractPad鈩?is also an ideal interface for controlling multimedia featureslike the LG KF600鈥檚 digital audio player, camera and video camera. As itscontrols are not tied to physical buttons, each of these functions has a custominterface that makes it incredibly intuitive to use.
To make it easier to navigate, the InteractPad鈩?is equipped with multi-sensorialfeedback that provides users with audio, visual and tactile cues. When a virtualbutton is pressed it becomes larger and the phone vibrates slightly, whilstmaking a 鈥渃licking sound鈥? This feedback is not only designed to make thesevirtual buttons seem more like real ones, it also makes the phone morecomfortable and easy to operate.
The LG KF600 includes eight dynamic graphic interface themes that are allstylish and fun, each giving the phone a different character that can act as anextension of its owner鈥檚 personality. These themes, many of which were inspiredby the work of famed artist Keith Haring, influence all aspects of the LGKF600鈥檚 interface including the InteractPad鈩?
